9月23日谷歌将在旧金山举行第二届Google Play 独立手游节（Google Play Indie Games Festival）。游客可以免费参观并为自己心仪的游戏投下一票。

谷歌为了提高APP的可发现性，还专门推出了一个Free App of the week的榜单项目，而Google Play独立游戏节则是大数据时代通过人工推荐来提高优秀APP曝光率和可视性的另外一个尝试。

Android如今是最大的手机游戏平台，据市场研究公司Newzoo预测，2020年手游市场规模将高达650亿美元。虽然前景一片光明，但是对于手游开发商来说道路依然非常艰险，手游app成功路上目前最大的拦路虎就是可发现性，无论是Google Play还是苹果的AppStore都面临这个问题，平台的检索精度和推荐效率低下的问题积重难返，从数百万APP中脱颖而出的成本和难度都高得吓人。

目前Google Play独立游戏节的入围TOP20榜单已经公布，APP名称（开发者）如下：
谷歌还组建了一个专业评审团选出三个最终的获胜者。去年首届独立游戏节的获胜者都是解谜游戏，分别是Bit Bit Blocks（Greg Batha）、Numbo Jumbo（Wombo Combo）和Orbit-Playing wih Gravity（Highkey Games）。
